SUMMER DOMAIN CONTEST!!
The Summer Contest
It's time for the annual summer free domain contest for Hikaru Hoshi! That's right, if you win, you will get a free domain, plus free hosting from us. Aren't you excited? All you need to do is make a website layout and a matching wallpaper. Your inspiration can come from anywhere, but you just need to let us use them on Hikaru Hoshi for the public. Please read the rules below and use the form to send your designs. Designs are due on or before July 4th. If you submit them sooner, you will have more of a chance for people to view them. Public voting will open on July 6th and last for one week, unless Josh believes it needs to be open longer. The final score that determines who wins will be half dependent on your public score, and half dependent on Josh's score.The Rules
- Your design must be original, and designed fully by you.
- Your premade layout must be either coded with div layers, frames, tables or pop-ups. You must include your sources in a copyrights section, and the final product must be in a zipped folder. Extras such as avatars and link buttons are very nice, but not required.
- Your wallpaper must be in 1024x768 AND 1440x900 or 1280x800 in size. I would recommend that you make the widescreen version, then crop for the normal screen version. Sorry for the extra work, but many people now-a-days have a wide screen.
- You must have our copyright on both your layout and wallpaper. Just put HikaruHoshi.com somewhere viewable, but not huge.
- Only one entry per designer.
- Your designs must be at or below a PG-13 rating.
- Your wallpaper and layout will be added to the Hikaru Hoshi database for public viewing and downloading. However, credit will be given to you.
- Public voting cheating will be tracked and automatically get you kicked out of the race. This may include: using proxy sites to mask your IP address, spamming other people's sites to vote for you, and the like.
- You must add the banner to your site. It must be viewable on a majority of your pages. Your submission will not be added unless the banner is up.
- Your submission must be on time. Wallpapers and premade layouts submitted after midnight on July 4th will not be accepted.

The Prizes
First Place: One free .com, .net or .org website with free hosting from me for one year. After your year is up, you are responsible for any fees. Please use a WhoIs lookup, such as at GoDaddy.com, to make sure your name is avaliable. I will contact the winner immediately to ask for your order since it takes a while. The first place winner will also get a chance for sibblingship, and a graphic trophy/award.Second Place: Half price for a domain name of your choosing. This will be $6. Payment would be through paypal. Also, your choice of a small plan with your own cpanel, or a larger plan through my main hosting, without a cPanel. This is all optional, of course. You will also get a chance for sibblingship or affiliation, and a graphic award/trophy.
Third Place and On: You will all get an offer for hosting, along with a participated award. Domains are avaliable to purchase at $10.
