Summer Design=Domain Contest

Want to win a free domain for a year from Hikaru Hoshi? Come join the summer design=domain contest. Read below to learn more and find out how to enter.

What You Do

The design aspect is pretty open-ended. Just be sure that your design somehow ties to Asian music, movie, or TV stars, or even anime/manga if you so desire. Follow the rest of the rules below...

1. Make a website layout that will be distributed on Hikaru Hoshi (retaining your copyright, of course). The layout should be coded via tables and/or div layers. Make sure you do stuffs similar to what we have now. Please place credits on the design, including one for yourself- just don't make it gigantic in size.
2. Also submit a wallpaper that goes with your design somehow. Wide-screen [1280x800] sized is preferred.
3. Make sure you add the banner so people know you entered (on next page).
4. Your deadline to submit is July 31st, 11:59PM US Central Time. Winners will be announced in late August.
5. After submissions-entering is closed, voting will commence. The public will vote on your design (50% final score) for three weeks, and Josh will then score each design (50% final score). Prizes are below

The Prizes

• 1st Place: A free domain for a year, and free non-cPanel hosting from Hikaru Hoshi [meaning you need to know how to use FTP]. Also, a graphic award.
• 2nd Place: Half-price domain for a year ($6), and free non-cPanel hosting. Of course, a graphic award also comes with your deal.
• All Others: A graphic award for participation, and an offer for subdomain hosting (or free non-cPanel hosting if you have a domain).

Formalities

By entering this contest, you agree to release your design to Hikaru Hoshi. These may be downloaded by visitors on our site. Feel free to have your own credit, but it must also somehow note that it was found at HikaruHoshi.com. The staff reserves the right to cancel and/or make changes to this contest if there are not enough participants for a legitimate contest. After one year of free domain service, you will be responsible for a renewal rate, currently $12/year. If you are not able to renewl your domain, it will most likely fall in a state of domain-registrar limbo, meaning that it is very very difficult to rescue.
